Oxwich Beach

Oxwich Beach is another popular beach, and is the second largest on the Gower Peninsula ( Rhossili being the largest) and has found favour with visiting tourists, caravanners and campers.
Oxwich Bay can be found by turning off the A4118 road near Nicholaston and following a narrow, curvy and tricky road down to the level "marshes" road to the beach, its quite a steep descent and ascent so be prepared!
Oxwich Bay has a pretty hotel right on the beach front -the Oxwich Bay Hotel -and is a lovely place to stay, hold a wedding party or just visit for a meal or refreshing drink, its garden with tables is an ideal place for relaxing and looking across the bay.

There are two campsites of note in this area, the one in Oxwich village near the car park and beach (turn right at the crossroads near the hotel)is the Oxwich Camping Park (01792 390777 no website) ,this site only caters for motorhomes and tents and charge @ £14/night (2006)and one that offers views over Oxwich bay and is reached via the main A4118 near Penmaen and is situated on higher ground is Nicholaston Farm Family Caravan Camping Site.
